Sad stat … According to a survey by Dove, 96% of women said they wouldn’t use the word “beautiful” to describe themselves.
One bright spot: 80% said that all women have something beautiful about them.
The survey was done as part of Dove’s Choose Beautiful campaign and included 6,400 women between the ages 18 to 64 from five cities around the world: San Francisco, Shanghai, Delhi, London, and São Paolo.
More numbers:
78% of women said they don’t feel confident of their own beauty.
32% said their biggest beauty pressure is self-imposed.
70% say that beauty is more than physical appearance.
Dove also created a video for the campaign where they had women choose whether to walk through a door labeled “beautiful” or one that read “average.” Sadly, many chose the average door. Check it out:
Have you seen this photo?! Some guy captured a photo of a weasel trying to eat a woodpecker by riding on it's back!! No worries - the woodpecker outsmarted the sly old weasel and somehow flew away and we're left with an amazing photo!!
Ok - you MUST check out my friend's Youtube channel!! He is LOCAL and he is HYSTERICAL!! This 50 Shades of Gray parody...omg. I love a dry, quirky, twisted sense of humor and if you enjoy that as well...check him out!!!:)
Hi I'm Sunny, and I moustache you a question...will you love me?! I'm this week's Dog&Co Pet of the Week. I'm still a young guy (1-3 years old), I'm a perfect gentlemen and especially love the company of ladies. I came to the shelter with my 2 best friends and they've found homes...but not me. Will you help me find my forever home? You can visit me at the White County Animal Shelter or learn more online at www.whitecountyanimalshelter.com.
Two runaway llamas in Sun City, Arizona made national news and lit up the Twitter-sphere on Thursday after they evaded police and ran through traffic before they were eventually lassoed by an urban cowboy in a pickup truck.
It all started well enough. The llamas visited Carillons Assisted Living Center to serve as therapy animals for the residents there, but as they were getting ready to leave, they got spooked and made a run for it about around 11 a.m.
Authorities were notified around noon, but even the sheriffs couldn't nab the runaways, who were eventually rounded up at about 1:30 p.m. and returned to their owners. llamas just wanna have fun people...geezzzz
This dress is gonna break the internet!! It's everywhere and there's a huge debate - is it white and gold or black and blue? I see white and gold!! I feel like I'm going crazy or this is some tricky optical illusion! Do you see #whiteandgold or #blackandblue?!!
The Kardashians have signed a record deal that will keep them on E! for another four years. The price tag is a mere $100 million -- a record for a reality TV show. Kris Jenner negotiated the deal for herself and her daughters Kim, Khloé, Kourtney, Kendall and Kylie. Bruce Jenner, who decided to leave Keeping Up with the Kardashians after the 10th season, is not included in the contract as he has a deal with E! for his own show documenting his gender transition. Oh Boy - more Kardashian drama guaranteed for at least 4 more years (insert eye roll).
